Mandatory Questions on Duplicated Proposals

Is there a way to require action on a mandatory question when a proposal has been duplicated? We are collecting data to push to our CRM. One of these questions is a text list of timelines that interacts with a date formula. If that question is not updated and left stagnant, we are going to start pushing bad/outdated dates to our CRM fields. We would like to force the mandatory question to be answered even on duplicated proposals.
